I'm not sure if anyone reading these emails can remove you, but you
might try following the instructions added to the bottom of emails by
the list:

If that doesn't work, you should be able to contact the list owner for
help - see http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html (hmm... reading
that, perhaps my last post should have gone to the owner instead of the
list...)

A few things to check...
Check that the document language is correct - from the Tools menu,
select Options, expand "Language Settings", select "Languages", and
check the default language for the document. That may be incorrectly
set, or if it is correct there may not be a thesaurus available for the
language.
Select "Writing Aids" in the left pane of the options and click the edit
button next to the list of "Available language modules". Select the
document language from the list and see if a thesaurus is available, if
so ensure it is ticked.
I'm afraid that's about the limit of my knowledge, but hopefully someone
else can advise more if that doesn't help. I expect they'll need to know
which language installation you're using, and the document language
though. Seems fine for me using UK English.
