Well, you've done a good job with English! No problems understanding you at
all.

Paul, this is not really a problem with Open Office but with the fact that you
have a French keyboard on your computer and not a Spanish one.

There are two ways, one for use if you know the layout of the Spanish keyboard,
the other if you don't.

If you know the layout of the Spanish keyboard, you can add that to your
alternatives in Regional Settings (I think it's called) under the Control
Panel. I don't know what it will be called in French. With this alternative
you can add a little icon to the System Tray (on the bottom right of your
screen, where the clock usually is) so that you can change between the French
and Spanish keyboards - and the English one as well, if you like - at the click
of a mouse button. I use this method to change between the normal Swedish
keyboard attached to my computer and the Icelandic one which I sometimes need.

If you don't know the layout of the Spanish keyboard, you can use the Character
Map which I think you find under Accessories and probably System Tools. In
this you can click on the Spanish character you need and copy and paste it to
your document. This is somewhat cumbersome, and what I did once when I needed
six or seven characters which I couldn't type was to copy them from the
Character Map to a small Open Office document, and open that when I needed
these characters. I assume there are not more than, say, ten special
characters you need in Spanish, and these can fit into a really tiny document
which you can have open beside the Spanish document you are working on and
quickly copy and paste from your character document to the Spanish document.

Maybe someone has a third alternative? Can one load an on-screen keyboard in
Windows XP? If so Paul can click on the letters he needs that way.

You're welcome.

See above. There's nothing wrong with your English, Paul.
