Added information: Version 3.2 for Windows (XP) works just fine in this regard.

I am using OpenOffice.org 3.2 (ooo-build 3.2.0.10, Debian 1:3.2.0-7ubuntu4,
Fri Apr 23 18:49:04 UTC 2010) on Kubuntu 10.04.
I am having trouble defining print ranges in a spreadsheet. I want Columns B
through R on one set of pages, S through AD on another, and AE through BT on
a third. I want Row 1 and Column A on all pages. I also want to force a page
break following certain rows.
I defined print ranges with an earlier version of OOo including the Row and
Column to be repeated by means of Format->Print Ranges->Define. I also used
to be able to edit them by means of Format->Print Ranges->Edit. However with
the last two versions that I've had (both from Ubuntu), I get an "Invalid
Sheet Reference" error message regarding the Rows to repeat ($1) and the
Columns to repeat ($A).
Insert->Page Break->Row Break looks like it may force the page break before a
row (which will do) once I have the print ranges properly defined but the
repeated row and column must be definable.
Is this problem unique to the Ubuntu/Debian subversion of OOo? You may read
that either way you wish. This latest version also enlarged the effective
font sizes which really messed up my formatting. It may be that I need to
replace the Ubuntu/Debian 3.2 with a vanilla 3.2 but I'm not sure what would
be entailed in doing so.
I am requesting advice.
