Theresa, if you got the download from www.openoffice.org one thing to try is checking the MD5SUM:
www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/using_md5sums.html

If that does not show a problem, your download is fine, and the next possibility is that your AV program is objecting -- but this is reliable code, so you can

  1. Disconnect from the internet.
  2. Disable your AV program.
  3. Retry the install.
  4. Enable your AV program.
  5. Reconnect to the internet.
