If you do a soft upgrade, you won't lose your customization since it is stored
in the user profile (should be the default, else you need to run OOo as root).

Beware of the soft upgrade, it can lead to a not that stable system because old
files can still cause troubles. I prefer having several partitions and make a
clean install from scratch to have a brand new system. Partitions are useful to
keep your data in a location completely separated from the OS part.

I've got a question regarding the effect of doing an upgrade to Ubuntu
10.04.

I got into OOo when I installed Ubuntu 9.04 after playing around with
8.10 a little. I stayed with 9.04 version through the debacle that was
9.10. Now that 10.04 is out and apparently stable (and the LTS version
to boot), I'm considering making the change. That brings with it OOo
3.2. The question:

will this completely replace 3.1 with all the tweaks I've made?

The question sounds familiar, but I can't find a reference to it.

tnx
