[Background: This began a couple weeks ago, in an attempt to understand
the connection between Writer's envelope wizard and envelope page style.
I later posted a question; no replies, so I'm trying the archive search
again.]
According to the archive, there have been thousands of posts in this
list (and the 'discuss' list) about {envelope}. [I take that as
confirmation of a problem.] So when I wanted to understand the
connection of Writer's envelope wizard to the envelope page style, I
tried to narrow the search by searching on {envelope style} and sort the
results anti-chronologically (most recent first) by thread.
Now, there is a very nice page <http://www.openoffice.org/scdocs/Search>
about how to maximize search efficiency, but nothing on it about how to
sort the results. Every search seems to be sorted "by relevance" - but
with no clear view to how "relevance" is determined (and thus how to
influence it). In particular, threads are broken, with perhaps one post
being deemed highly "relevant" and others of little or no "relevance",
so there is complete threading and chronological randomness in search
results. Anyone know how to fix that: to have full threads returned,
and to sort those threads by time?
John
