The point is that you can copy as much data as you want (or in your
case: as you don't want ;-)), without sversion.ini OOo 1.x will not find
it. Try it if you don't believe it.

I didn't recommend to copy files between different versions (though in
case of 1.1.0 - 1.1.4 it works, because StarOffice always uses the same
directory for allt these versions!), I (and the OP also) was talking
about copying data for *the same version* from one Windows machine to
another one. I didn't even *recommend* to do this, this depends on the
experience level of the user. But it is not correct to say it can't
work. That's all. :-)
