Hi, On my Ubuntu 8.04, OOo icons used by Gnome menus are png files and are located in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/mimetypes I can't remember if it was for XP or Ubuntu but at a moment I found icons in svg format in installation directory of OOo.
