Thanks Sylvia

Somebody is apparently sending you files created by OpenOffice.org as e-mail attachments. To open them, you'll need to download OOo from www.openoffice.org, and then install it, typically by double-clicking on the downloaded file's icon and following the directions you get. That may not completely do it, though -- you may also have to set your e-mail program to have the right 'file association" to find the part of OOo to use for each type of file. Text documents (.odt files), for example, need swriter.exe. You can usually do that by right-clicking on an attached file, browsing under Program FIles (for Windows -- there's something similar for other operating systems) for the right file, and selecting the option to always use this program for this file type. You would just need to do this once for each type of file that way. Please let us know if this isn't enough to let you get at the attachments, with more specifics about the file types you need to open, your operating system and version, and your e-mail client.
