How far through the installation process did you get? Did you see any error messages, and if so, what were they? What operating system and version are you using? What site did you download from, www.openoffice.org or somewhere else? (Registration is not really necessary for the standard version of OOo, it is used for tracking numbers of installed copies and is not expected to be especially accurate.)
