Hello Karsten,Hello,
perhaps somebody knows this?

I have the latest OO version 3.2.1

If I write text on a slide in OO-Impress, and I want to color selected
words with a certain color, this is very tedious:

I have to select the color for each single word!

The reason is, the color button has a color itself, but this changes
as you point the cursor to a different place: it will show the local
color (after a short time).

This means, if I want to change a word's color:
- I select a word
- I click on the small triangle besides the color button
- I select a color

I am not sure whether this is intended.

In my opinion, it should show the last color manually selected, and
apply it to each selection, for which I click on the color button. In
this way it would be much quicker (after the first word):
- I select a word
- I click on the color button

Regards, Karsten
I filed a bug report on this, but while the issue was fixed in Writer,
it was not fixed in Impress apparently, so it would make sense to
re-open it.

Also, you may want to vote for having character styles in Impress so
that you can apply a certain colour (as well as other formatting) to
individual words with just a couple of clicks, and if later on you
decide to change the "highlight" colour, again you only need a few
clicks...

Writing this email offline, so not able to provide links to the bugs,
but may do that in a separate email (when I have re-opened the issue).

Cheers,

Michele

Something strange happened with the reply-to address and this didn't go to the whole list first time.

Issue 54063 reported by michelezarri (looks like it could be you!) seems to deal with this. It is listed as enhancement rather than defect, and the status is unconfirmed:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=54063

I've just submitted a new issue 112686, emphasising the defect in that the behaviour is inconsistent, and marked as being for all applications:

Mark.

I voted for the two issues.
