Greetings and my sincerest apologies for not being better versed in Open Office and the OO Lingo... I am currently using OO v 1..9.104 on a Win2K os. I downloaded some TT fonts and installed them in the Windows Font file, they do display in Outlook Express and paint (the only ms apps that have ability to change font) ex... Test Font 1, Test font 2 , test font 3 I read a few of the articles that were available for "font" issues on your website, but alas, they are greek to me and the only one that was somewhat comprehendable to me was written in 2002... I originally installed OO v1.4, but my husband convinced me that the 1.9 is more user friendly, (since i installed this software on a clients computer and their only experience has been w/MS office suites). I do not recall uninstalling the 1.4, but it does not appear in my add/remove programs, only in C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.1.4; perhaps it removed it during the installation of the 1.9? anyway, I noticed that in the articles i read, it mentioned there was supposed to be a font folder in the share - i didn't have that font foder in the 1.9.104 , but did in the 1.4, so i copied the font folder ( after i copied and pasted from the font folder i had downloaded/extracted the fonts to) and pasted to the 1.9 folder... that didn't help. Now, i do notice that the font names "appear" in the Draw program if you type tex, , then highlight and right click on it (this was before and after copying the font file). however, they do not make the text change. These font names do not appear in OpenOffice writer, but the list shows up in the OO Calc application, and there is a printer image next to it (see attached printerex.odt for a sample) and it does not change the way the font appears. I think i've answered all the questions you may need to respond to me, so if not, please advise... Thanks,
Ms. charlie nystel

You may want to check the application data folder. I do not know where it is on Win2k, but in XP it would be "C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\OpenOffice.org 1.9.104" or something like that. In there you may find a font folder. I don't know how fonts are installed in general on Win2k, but if they are available in OE, they should be available in all apps. Odd.
