Thanks, Harold. I did suffer through forms but I cannot seem to get it to use an internal data source, that is, that I would define the fields of the combo box from within the Writer document. That is why I asked the question in the generic sense: I figured that I was barking up the wrong tree. The page that you linked to does mention that it is meant to describe how to create a form without any links to a data source or database, but it makes no mention of it other than avoiding the data source configuration altogether! Did I miss something, I've read it, especially the "Configure controls" section. I have managed to get the combo box to display a single line in Control -> General -> Default Text but how do I configure the rest of the lines. SQL-type "option1", "option2" obviously does not work in a field called "Default Text" but even adding such text to Control -> Data -> List Content or other places is fruitless.
