Hi Javier,
Red Hat's not dying. They've gone commercial. Red Hat 9 is the last open source package. They still support open source, but the package is now call Fedora. Core 4 is available for download.

A. Thanks for helping me out. There is little
support of Linux in Panama. Perhaps Red Hat
will open an office here in the near future.

No problem. :-)

B. Question: At an Internet Cafe, the owner
told me he could download Red Hat 9.0, for
aprox $ 10.00 per CD. He did not know how
many CD's Red Hat 9.0 takes.

My question is: Is Red Hat 9.0 FREE ?

It is but it is also at End of Life (EOL) and the
binaries only are
three CDs.

You might like to review what is available for
download from
http://www.linuxiso.org/ For example, the Knoppix
distro takes one CD so
at $10 not a bad deal. There are others as well that
offer a single
bootable CD that can be installed on your harddisk.
