Hi John,

I just downloaded the latest update 3.2.1. A short time ago I had
updated Office. That installation put the finished Office package in
c:\..Programs\OpenOffice 3 folder where other Office updates had gone
in the past.
This time it made a folder c:\Document Settings\John
Beach\Desktop\OpenOffice3.2.org(en-US)Installation and then apparently
installed the package in c:\..Programs\OpenOffice.org 3 folder and
removed the older version in this folder.
So I now have this big installation folder and also this operational
folder,OpenOffice.org 3. Do I need the Installation folder any more and
if not how do I get rid of it and its sub folders without screwing up
the operational Office package?
You can delete the desktop folder and files without any problem. You
may wish to put them on a cd in case you need to reinstall for some
reason. This will also allow you to install on other systems without
downloading the files again.
Also looking at the disk in the c:\Programs folder there is another
folder called \Open Office, which seems to have even older files tag
back to 2008, especially with this huge old compressed
openofficeorg1.cab file.
It would seem that those files can be deleted as well, as the c:\Program
Files\OpenOffice.org3 folder is the default location.
Hope this helps.
