you will have to use a Development Snapshot version (future OOo 3.3), because
this feature has been added since DEV300_m72:

http://development.openoffice.org/releases/DEV300m84_snapshot.html

Chart Drawing Objects

Chart was enhanced and now supports drawing objects. The drawing toolbar
allows to insert simple shapes such as lines, rectangles and text objects.
Furthermore even complex shapes such as cubes, symbols, block arrows,
flowcharts and stars can be inserted. The drawing objects can be edited by
several dialogs which can be opened via context menu. Also the font and
formatting of text objects can be changed.
