Hi,

This is OOo 3.2.1 on Mac OS X.

When opening MS Office files OpenOffice shows them as empty documents, but with the correct number of pages. Word pages appear white, Powerpoint pages appear black. It is, however, possible to mark an entire Word document, assign color black to all characters and--tada!--the text magically becomes visible.

Moreover, there seems to be a connection with the file name suffix. The problem occurs with files for which the Finder shows no suffix. Renaming a file with suffix .doc enables OOo to open the file correctly.

NeoOffice, in contrast, opens all documents correctly.

I've already tried wiping a user's preferences and also re-installing OOo but to no avail.

What's going on? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Gero.
