I am in OpenSUSE 11.2 right now (restarted my computer since last message) and my OpenOffice.org version is OOO310m21 (Build 9319) and it's the Novel version, I suppose that's the same as Go-OO, right? Anyway, my solution (OK, it's not really mine…) works on that version, so you must be doing something wrong. Are you sure you are following the instructions for 100%? Of course there is a possibility that I didn't write it correctly. Anyone else who got it to work? I can create an example document, that I will test before I send it, if you like.
