I have been looking at OpenOffice to replace Word, but I am baffled at
the lack of postnet barcode support in OpenOffice. I saw some archived
discussion where some developer mistakenly believed they would have to
pay a lot of money to implement postnet barcodes into OpenOffice.
The postnet barcode is just a barcode representation of the ZIP code,
ZIP+4, or ZIP+4 and delivery point. There is no licensing or fees or
anything else to pay anyone. Just a barcode font and a way to put it on
an envelope.
