Testing now in (U)OOo & when I get to step 5 (Adjust layout of address block and salutation) in (U)OOo CPU goes to 83% and (U)OOo stalls. I have to kill (U)OOo to get my CPU back (I'll file a launchpad bug against that version). On m8,I used the exact same odt and odb as above; I merged 79 records, created envelopes and letters for each (158 pages). The envelopes are standard #10, and the letters are full pages with headers, footers, address block, salutation, enhanced fonts (shaded, script, bolded, etc), and the footer contains 4 business addresses. Total time from start of mailmerge to completion: 44 seconds. System: 32bit 2.4Ghz(Intel)/1Gb Ram. Also open at the time of the merge: (U)OOo 3.2.1 (Writer), Nautilus, SeaMonkey 2.0.8 w/2 browser windows, 4 mail/news windows & 25 tabs (browser & mail/news), lightning calendar. Ubuntu 10.04 2.6.32-25-generic (Gnome). Would you like me to test on 64bit as well?
