I am currently using a Windows based PC running MS Access. I need to take

As far as I know there are no database drivers for Access on any
platform other than Windows ("MS Connectivity Tools").
You need 2 Base documents on a Win machine with the MS tools installed.
Connect one Base document to the Access database and the other Base
document to some other database (may be a default HSQLDB, but that would
not be the one and only, not even the best choice).
Base can copy tables across connected databases. Do not "open" the
table. Just drag the table icon from one Base window into the other and
follow the wizard with care.
From MSAccess on Windows you can export to csv, Excel or dBase to
mention 3 file formats Base can handle good enough. Access has some
valuable self-reporting tools to export all meta-information about your
database.

Andreas
