Yes, just converting the MSW .doc template to .odt doesn't yield
problem, the .odt got corrupted after I started pasting some test,
frames with images on it and creating styles, not sure which exact step
corrupted it.
I thought the latest beta was 1.9.104, because that's the one it was
linked on OOo homepage.
I guess I'll fill a bug report later.

I have tested converting the doc template to an OOo template with
1.9m109 and no problem. Please get the latest beta candidate and retest.
And yes the existing OOo doc is corrupted.
