Dear OOOfficer,
I am an old dog compelled to learn new tricks in an effort to survive.
From my questions you will see how ignorant I am regarding IT.
While experiencing many problems with MS products, Adobe upgrades,
2007, Firefox - etc. I wish to totally divorce from Windows & MS !!
Do I need Windows XP (which I presently use with Offixe XP) to
operate OO?
Is OO just a alternative to MS Office?
Pls advise.
Thanking you kindly.

First you do not require Windows to use OOo. Second, OOo is not a 100%
replacement for Office, XP or other wise. If you really want to get
away from Microsoft, you will need to find a replacement Operating
system. You will need some basic understanding of how computers work
and the functions of operating systems. To learn more try finding a
local computer group to help get you started. If that does not work do
a search in your favorite search engine for computer operating systems
, and be ready to learn a lot in a short time.
