The model should reflect real-world needs, not restrict usage.
Compatibility with "the competitor's model" is surely a red herring.
Who says it's wrong? It reflects most of the documents saving the user
data of the last decades.
Throwing away seven million lines of code because someone thinks it
could be a good idea to reanimate "MS Binder"[1] would be the end of
this project.
There is plenty of page oriented software, even free one.
