In a fresh install of Windows 7, I have a problem where if I open more
than 1 Calc window at the same time by double-clicking then close all of
them, scalc.exe, soffice.exe, and soffice.bin don't completely shut
down. They disappear from the "applications" list in Task Manager but
still show up in "processes". If I then try to open another spreadsheet
nothing appears to happen, but another instance of the scalc and soffice
processes appears. If I kill all of the processes, I can then open a
file normally again. Has this been seen by others and is there any way
to fix it?
It occasionally happened in XP, but rarely. It seems to happen only
with Calc, not Writer. It also happens (or at least happened, rarely)
with Firefox in XP but I haven't observed it happening with Firefox in
7. Is this one of those "incompatibilities" that MS hinted about in the
"Compatibility Advisor" (which has turned out to be less than fully
accurate in several cases for me, even referring to some MS software)?
Is this a bug that I need to set up an account and report? Thanks.
