Using OpenOffice.org v3.2.1. I've googled around and couldn't find
anything relevant.

I can create ODT documents from a genealogical program called GRAMPS.
GRAMPS sets up the document so that generation titles are index mark
entries so that if I add a Table Of Contents and select the 'Index
marks' option, I get a list of the generation titles.

When I try to add an index at the end, there seems to be no way to add
an index mark to the 'Alphabetized Index' title. This includes turning
OFF protection against manual changes. When I turn protection off, I
can change text, but the Insert->Indexes and Tables->Entry is grayed
out.

The only way I found to add it is to manually change the Table Of
Contents, meaning I have to add it along with the page number. I'd
rather have it automated if possible (like all the other Table Of
Content entries).

Am I missing something or can this really not be done? Thanks.
