First, you should have no need to register or log on to the site -- if you got OpenOffice.org from a site other than www.openoffice.org, that may be the beginning of the problem. Registration is optional during the installation process, but has no function operationally, it's just trying to get statistics about how many users there are.
If you describe your problem here, including what operating system and version, and what version of OOo you are using, and as much as possible about the details of the problem and how you've tried to solve it, the users on this mailing list will try our best to help you.
