Peter, I'm glad to say that you're perfectly right! It does work: a very stupid error was preventing correct grasping of values from the other ss: I was referring to 'Sheet1' whereas the name was 'A'..... ;-) I'm now using the 'Reference to a cell in another ss' (i.e. 'file:///path/file.sxc'#Sheet_name.$Col$Row) instead of the Insert/External data > >I'd suppose it worked within the same spreadsheet as it > >doesn't seem to be settable as a 'general' Calc configuration ... > > > >I found a workaround that seems to work: in the ss I'm importing from I > >set a cell "=named_range" (this will show the value) and give it a new > >range > >name (say n_r2). No need for the workaround: it would meet the same error (as the case was, when I attempted to do the same with other worksheets). For a better understanding: I was doing exactly what I discovered is explained in the under reported link you suggested (the c/c Summary). > > Perhaps this document might help you on your ventures: > <http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/calc/calc_multiplesheets_v2_13_June_PK.sxw> > > Have a good one, > Thanks again for your assistance.
