OOo already exports PDF.
Which is fine as far as it goes. But you don't get all those nice
'brochure' printing options. And using a pdf printer offers a common
interface across all applications, and (at least on Windows) you can
also get jpegs and other graphics formats, which is occasionally useful.
(I use PDFCreator on XP)
