But I couldn't remember for sure how that works with Windows. All of my Linux machines take care of that stuff for me. So, I went to my (only) Windows machine, Win7 64bit, and opened OOo. Indeed, I could not find an update option. So, I checked the help file which told me where the update option is "suppose" to be. But it was not there. Then I realized that I am using OpenOffice Portable on that machine. So, it is possible that you have some version of OOo which does not include the update option. If this is the case the solution is quite simple: go to the OpenOffice.org website (or wherever you got your copy of OpenOffice) and check for the latest release version. Go to your copy of OOo and select Help>About and check your version. If the site version is newer you could download it. I have installed newer versions over the top of older versions on Windows in the past without a problem, but I can't garauntee it. You might wish to first uninstall your existing version and installing your new version after a reboot. Someone else on this list might be more informed. By the way, this is an English list.
