The version of OOo that comes with most linux distributions
including ubuntu uses a different location for the executable file. (I
think it is in the /etc/ folder.) The linux versions of OOo that comes
from the www.openoffice.org website is installed in the /opt/ folder.
The executable file is /opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice.
