That's an OpenOffice version 1 spreadsheet, not a text document. The
new version is ".ODS" or .XLS in Microsoft Office format. When you
save a file, you have to select the appropriate file type from the
drop down list in "Save as", if you want older versions of MS Office
to be able to open it. You cannot simply rename the extension.
