I don't think I was clear about my question before. The company I work
for wants to continue saving all documents in Microsoft formats,
however, they want a conversion tool that will alleviate some of the
issues out there for opening Microsoft documents in Open Office. In
other words, they want this software to go in and clean up the microsoft
documents so that when they are opened in OpenOffice there is no change
or distortion in either formatting or content. I am currently working
with OpenOffice version 109 if that helps at all. Thank you,

You're right. This adds another dimension to the nature of the task.
Personally, as a card carrying cynic, my opinion is that this
"requirement" is entirely bogus. Your management knows that they have
sent you on a "snipe hunt" and that there isn't likely to be a tool to
meet this outlandish requirement. Even M$O, from one version to the
next, bollixes these same issues. This leads me to conclude that the
original idea for integrating OOo into your office was not their idea.
I probably shouldn't be so negative, but root cause analysis often
points one to an entirely different definition of the source of a
problem than might be otherwise assumed.
