In my experience, the behaviour of Word files in Explorer is exactly the same whether those files were created in OOo or in Microsoft Word. What date fields are displayed depend on the settings in Explorer (*View>Choose details), and are the same for both types of file. Perhaps you could provide more details of your problem (including the OOo version and the OS you are using).
