I can think of at least three or four instances that I have identified
the source of malware on a computer and asked why the user ran some
.exe attachment to an email from an unknown source. Their answer every
time was "my mother/friend/coworker sent it to me and I trust them!".
Humans do not know how to make an informed decision regarding
trustworthy sources.
