That's one of the situations which can cause problems. Mailing lists often provide a way to specify an address to unsubscribe other than the one you are sending from. The confirmation email would still go to the subscribed address (so no-one else can unsubscribe you without your knowledge), but that message should be forwarded to you actual address the same as any other emails you receive through the list.
