The most likely problem is that you have opened a spreadsheet that
you opened as read only. About three icons to the right of the Open icon
is the Edit icon. If it is not grayed out, click it. This should make
the spreadsheet editable and make the icons you mentioned usable again.
If this does not work, then the speadsheet has been made read only by
your operating system.
