I've had two big, time-consuming problems - one I think I've solved, and the
other I haven't.

At first my Base tables wouldn't add a new record to most of my Access
tables. After lots of trial and error I realised that the presence of a
hyperlink field and/or a memo field in the Access table was causing the
trouble. Once those field types were changed to text in Access, all was
well. (It's a shame to have to do that, though ...) I couldn't find anything
about this on the internet, even after I guessed what was doing it, so I
thought it might be worth mentioning ...

But now I have added a form, and there is another problem. Base will only
add a new record if all the fields on the form are filled in - apparently it
won't allow null fields. This seems to apply however many fields from the
table are included on the form, and irrespective of field types: one empty
field is enough. I'm used to Access and this seems crazy to me - can anyone
help?

Many thanks

JB
