I'm thinking the link meant is the link used when you go to
Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Online Update and click the "Check
Now" button. When this is done, no connection is made. At the top of
this page, there is a choice of how often to check for an updated
version. It would attempt to make a connection to www.openoffice.org
without any success.
