What you say about the OOo format raises some doubts: although my
original file was set up as a Lotus 123, then translated to an Excel
file to be opened by OOo-Calc, it was finally saved as an .sxc file:
however, it goes on with the row height adjusting affair; not a really
dramatic waste of time (maybe 10 seconds) but: should it do this at all?
May be I missed something during translation?
OTOH most of the time is spent just 'loading the file' (and this one
opens very quickly as compared to other ones bearing some references to
other files: the loading, there, takes a couple of minutes! ... ;(
