There are currently OOo 2.0 beta versions for OSX.
OOo works perfectly well on OSX. There are 2 "versions", the official
one that makes use of the X11 windowing system (included in the OSX
install disks), and another free version called NeoOffice/J that does
not. Both are referenced on the official OOo pages for OSX.
As for the beta, their are constantly built and rebuilt and there are
no release candidate that I know of right now. But they exist and they
work fairly well (with X11) on either Panther or Tiger.
