I am running the 1.9.x that came with Suse 9.3. I have yet to figure how to
upgrade without screwing up the whole thing. There has been the usual caveat
talk re: v2 only being a beta version and not committing to it yet for
production work. I also found that when I save a v1 multi-sheet calc file as
v2, I loose some (30%?) of the page widths.
My Q: If there a way of converting back from v2 to v1 in the event that a
major problem is found and I am committed. This way, I only loose my data
entry from May, 2005 forward, an acceptable burden.
Instead of save as .ods (v2 spreadsheets) you could just save as .sxc
spreadsheets, unless this is the issue with the page widths.
In short, you can only open a v2 spreadsheet with v2, although it is
just a compressed xml file, so in a worst case scenario, you could
salvage the data in any case.
