Thanks! ...to all who helped me with my problems sending/receiving Word documents in OOo 2 this past week, or so. I didn't have these "conversion" problems with OOo 1.1.4, so that's what concerned me.
For the benefit of anyone who experiences this problem, here's what I did: I re-installed OOo 1.1.4. This confirmed there is no problem in this version, if you save the document as a "Word.doc", which I always did. So, I RE-INSTALLED OOo 2 and bingo! it worked fine, using the same "save as" procedure. This was not the case in my initial OOo 2 installation. I simply had a poor installation of OOo 2, is all! Fortunately, I'm on DSL and the installation is quick. For those on Modem follow the advise from others in this forum and go to a friend who has DSL to download Open Office (can save hours, literally). Sorry for the simplicity of this solution, but sometimes the simplist solutions are the best.
