Did you write that you were using Win98?
I could be wrong, and often am, but under Win98 don't long file names in
a DOS window have to be inside double quotes, i.e.
CD "C:\my documents\"
or
CD "C:\Program Files"
or
CD "C:\Program Files\Some Program Folder\"
?
Or whatever else may work. I had the same problem on Windows XP Pro
so it isn't just older versions of Windows. It stumped the IT person
the first time as well.
