OOo itself does not require a password. Depending on your operating
system, the OOo install program might require one of /your/ passwords in
order to perform the install process, because some operating systems
don't allow just any old body to install software whenever they feel
like it.
But without knowing your operating system and what version of OOo you
are trying to install, this is shooting in the dark.
