I did, but did not find what I needed to know. I did, however, find parts of what I needed in what I consider to be an obscure corner of Tools | Options As you advised, I looked further into the documentation: This document, http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/0202WG-SettingUpWriter.pdf contains information regarding icon sizes, clearly laid out. There are other documents that look helpful. I'll fetch them too. In another message you recommend that I download and install 118 (1.9.118). I did, and as you suggested, the toolbar issues went away. This version works well, from what I can see from a very short shakedown with writer only. Thanks. Finally: Email tends to make messages "sound" testy. I am responsible for the initial tone, so I will take care to lighten my tone. Would you please do so too?
