GRS has told you how to do this for a PDF document created by OOo
1.1.4. If you are talking about creating a TOC with hyperlinks in *.sxw
documents, this is also quite possible.
If this is what you want to do, enter "tables of contents; creating"
in the Search term box of help (without the parentheses). It lists five
steps to do it. This might also require you to learn about styles.
I would add the following to these five steps. Use the Heading 1
style for the title of you document. Use Heading 2 style for each of
your chapter headings. Step 4 of these steps should be done as follows:
a) Click in the white box before the "E" to the right of the word
"Structure".
b) Click "Hyperlink". (A "LS" appears before the "E".)
c) Click in the white box after the "E".
d) Click "Hyperlink". (A "LE" appears after the "E".)
At this point, look under Table of Contents on the left side of this
window ("Insert Index/Table"). Heading 1.1 should have changed colors
and be underlined. If so, complete step 5, and you should have your TOC
with hyperlinks to each chapter.
