These are normal files in a normal .sxw ( or .odt ) file. All OpenOffice.org
files are just a set of zipped XML files.
I'm not sure what your colleagues want to do with the files but maybe the
answer to your question is for them to ignore the extra files and directory ?

Thanks for your patience. I did not know that these files were indeed
already there I just could not see them.
What i still don't understand is that i have the same "problem even when
I zip a file that has nothing to do with OOo. As for my colleagues, I
have some sympathy for their views since they also create archives that
do not contain the additional files so the directory with all the
archives is not homogeneous.
Anyway, following your suggestion I sent a message on the
[email protected] list (although did not arrive yet...)
