Thanks Guido While your answer is not quite spot on it did prompt me to poke 
arround with the stylist and the way to do it in case anyone else is 
wandering is to select the page style (or any style) you want to copy and 
then click the Create New Style From Selection button in the Stylist window 
(2nd from the right) It then prompts you for a new name and voila a copy of 
the style.


The two documents you suggest while helpful do not give me all the ansers to 
my other questions.
