Subject: How do I reset (page) headers/footers?
To: [email protected]

Answer: by inserting a section break.

A section break is just like a page break, but it resets the
headers/footers (which are indeed attributes of the section, not the
page). I used section breaks all the time to start new chapters. Where
did they go?

How do I insert a section break in OO?

I notice a 'Manual Break' menu item, with page breaks, but no section break.

[To be sure: chapters always begin on a new page, but subsections
don't, so the section break does not always start a new page, but it
will always influence the headers and footers]

Every document has one section (and one page) to start with. You can
create more by inserting section (and page) breaks. You don't need
'styles' to do this.

Anyway, I have reformatted my document according to your 'style'
model, but I won't know if it has done much good until I move the h2
heading 'style' out of the body of the page and into the page header.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Then I need to insure that the 'style' resets the headers/footers.

How do I do that?

I also need to define section attributes, like 'Voice' and 'Meaning'
to go in the header with 'Title'. And I need to put the h1 title in
the footer of every page (except the covers, of course)

If anybody knows how to do this, would you mind modifying the
(attached) document and sending it back to me?

"Picture worth thousand words"

Thanks,

Joe

PS

I'll paypal $5 to the best response (and an extra $5 if you can mirror
the page headers/footers on even and odd pages).
